Residents at HC-One’s
Ridgeway Lodge Care Home in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, have been sampling food and culture from around the world (and close to home) with an ‘international day’.
The 61-bed residential and residential dementia care home was decorated in over twenty international flags and bunting to lend a real cosmopolitan air to the day. Residents enjoyed a cultural quiz and discussion and sampled a range of international cuisines including foods from Portugal, India, Sri Lanka and England.
To provide a bit of traditional English seaside culture, Residents were treated to a performance of a Punch and Judy show, which was widely appreciated by Colleagues and Residents alike.
Resident Ted King said:
“This was a fabulous day, and we all learned so much. I particularly enjoyed the range of delicious food, and the Punch and Judy show”.
Michele Tricker, Care Home Manager, said:
“At HC-One we aim to provide our Residents with a wide range of fun and engaging activities, and our ‘international day’ was no exception. It was a wonderful occasion, with something for everyone.”
