Rewinding back 60 years for Manchester care home ResidentsYesterday at Westwood Lodge care home in Manchester, the Wellbeing Coordinators organised to take Residents back in time to the 1960s.

Colleagues decorated the themed trolley with famous pictures and faces from the 1960s for Residents to reminisce about their memories of this decade.

“We had famous foods such as prawn cocktail and sausages, cheese and pickles on sticks,” explained a Colleague.

The Residents loved the food; especially the prawns. They enjoyed looking through the fact booklet, that Colleagues created, which included famous cars that came out in the 60s and the day the first man walked on the moon.

Phillip Burke, who lives at Westwood Lodge, commented, “I remember watching the news and it was the day the first man walked on the moon.”

Home Manager, Lorraine Young, remarked, “Reminiscing is an important part of life here at Westwood Lodge and we had a wonderful day going back in time to the 1960s.”
