Nathu Thakor, a Resident at HC One’s Victoria Park care home in Coventry wished to cook a traditional Indian curry like he used to regularly for his wife and children.
Wellbeing Coordinator, Bonnie Mahmood arranged for Nathu’s wish to come true, she sourced all of the ingredients and a stove for him to cook his curry. Nathu made a beautiful lamb curry served with homemade chapattis that his wife had prepared and brought to Victoria Park.
Fellow Residents and members of the care team all enjoyed tasting Nathu’s curry, with everyone commenting that they look forward to the next curry he prepares for them.
Nathu had a great time cooking and brought back such happy memories of making meals for his family, he added that next time he plans to make slighter milder curry for all to enjoy.
