Residents welcome furry friends to White Gables care homeWhite Gables care home in Lincoln was delighted to welcome some special guests to the home for an afternoon of cuddles with the Residents.

Among the visitors were Edward the rex rabbit, William the lop-eared rabbit, and guinea pigs Peanut and Flump, who the Residents got to stroke and hold.

The final visitor was a tenrec, which looked similar to a hedgehog, which was particularly popular amongst the Residents. As the newest member of the gang, she hasn’t yet been named, although many suggested ‘Madam Cholet’ would be an appropriate fit due to her resemblance to the Womble of Wimbledon.

One Resident commented: “The animals were so cute! Edward the rabbit had the softest fur I’ve ever felt.”

Catherine Mitchell, Home Manager at White Gables, said: “The visit from our furry guests went down a storm with our Residents! Everyone couldn’t stop smiling as they got the chance to stroke and even hold the animals, which even brought a tear to the eyes of some of those who owned pets in the past.”
