A cavalcade of scooters buzzed through Northwich this week and visited
HC-One’s Daneside Court care home, in Northwich, to meet residents and hand out some amazing gifts.
The Omega Scooter Club, in Northwich, had teamed up with the staff from the Stanley Arms Pub, Anderton to donate Christmas gifts for all residents at the residential and nursing care home.
When they arrived at the home, on their festively decorated scooters, everyone was over the moon with the kind gesture. Residents, colleagues, relatives and members of the Scooter Club chatted together about the festivities.
Also in attendance were members of Dabbers Scooter Club, Crewe Kings Scooter Club, Cheshire Old Boys Scooter Club, South Cheshire Alliance and Plan B Scooter Club.
Residents enjoyed meeting new people and chatting about the festivities. Muriel Whitlow, who is 91, was in her element as she sat on a scooter and waved like royalty; she loved the event!
Members from The Omega Scooter Club, Alan Tomlinson, Trevor Howard, Nigel Ashbrook, Tim Henshall, Malc Wood and Carl Treasure got to meet the residents. They said:
“Of all the places we get to visit, visiting a care home gives the Scooter Club so much pleasure, as everyone is so grateful to receive the gifts and the residents love meeting the guys and chatting to them.”
Sharon Lelonek, Wellbeing Coordinator at Daneside Court, commented:
“On behalf of the residents and staff at Daneside Court, we would just like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone involved, we are really grateful for the gifts for the residents and our residents loved meeting everyone.
This Cavalcade of scooters helped bring everyone together and made this occasion a really special one for the residents here at Daneside Court.
An extra special ‘thank you’ from us and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, much love to you all.”
This event helped unite everyone and made this occasion very special.
