HC-One’s Roseberry Court in Redcar host a memory café every month on their memory floor, giving families, friends and members of the community a chance to come together and share lovely memories.
Taking time to enjoy looking at old photos and items of memorabilia, chatting to the memory care staff and Residents and enjoying refreshments and homemade cakes allows the local community and loved ones an opportunity to look around the care home.
Residents love getting out all of the memorabilia and reminiscing together, as well as playing with the old toys, and staff love hearing about the good old days and what each Resident used to get up to and what their surroundings used to be like.
Roseberry Court’s Home Manager, Alison Corner commented:
