Residents rediscover their inner child on action-packed weekend awayHC-One’s Northview Lodge Care Home in Castletown, Tyne and Wear have enjoyed a thrilling weekend away at Kielder Water & Forest Park.

Five Residents, Terry Wate, Peter Young, Sarah Galvin, Robert White and Kevin Kearney enjoyed an action packed weekend where they took part in outdoor activities such as the 50 foot ‘King Swing’, the zip line, archery and clay pigeon shooting.

Residents also got to visit the Birds of Prey Centre where they had the opportunity to handle some of the birds. Resident Kevin Kearney particularly enjoyed the Birds of Prey Centre, commenting:

“The holiday was great! The activities were spot on, especially the Birds of Prey.”

All of the activities were nicely balanced out with some lovely country walks by the water and through the woods in this glorious June sunshine.

Other Residents at Northview Lodge are looking forward to holidays planned later in the year, where they’ll get to visit places such as Edinburgh, Lourdes and Blackpool.

Resident Sarah Galvin commented:

“Thank you to the staff for taking us on this holiday, it was excellent and I would love to go back again if possible.”

Resident Robert White commented:

“I have really enjoyed this holiday, the King Swing was my favourite!”

Northview Lodge’s Home Manager, Patrick Morely commented:
