Residents pay their respects with Armistice Day wall artResidents at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, create a work of art to remember all those who fought in World War I.

A wife of one of St Clare’s Courts Resident is an art teacher and every Monday she visits the home and supports the Residents with an arts and crafts session.

The latest project was to make a display for Armistice Day by painting a silhouette against a painted background and then surrounding them with the homemade poppies, made by cutting out different fabrics.

The artwork is now displayed in the front entrance to the home and has received some lovely comments from visitors.

Residents had a great time creating their own artwork and loved seeing it all come together, commenting:

“The finished display is so much better than I ever though it would be, it’s great!”
