Residents of Ailsa Craig celebrate their 65th Wedding AnniversaryTwo Residents of Aisla Craig care home, in Glasgow, which offers residential care, nursing care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia, celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.

On 11 September 1956, Greta and Paul exchanged their vows at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Glasgow, 65-years later they are still happily married and remember their years with nostalgia.

Living in separate units Greta and Paul had a chance to spend an afternoon together with their family.

Greta and Paul then reminisced about their honeymoon in Portugal, their beloved luxurious cruises on the QE2 around the Mediterranean and, most importantly, how much fun they had during all these years.

When asked about marriage advice, Paul said: "I don't have advice, I wish there had been a handbook with all the answers about marriage, just do what feels right!".

Kitchen staff baked a lovely cake with blue icing for their anniversary and the care staff helped decorate the visiting room with blue and silver balloons.

A Relative of Greta and Paul said, “It’s so lovely that an anniversary party was organised for them both”.

Fellow Resident Isabella also commented and said, “65-years is a long time to be married, that’s longer than I was married!”.

Lynsey Armstrong, Care Home Manager said, “It's great to see Greta and Paul still going strong after so many years together!”.
