Residents make new furry friends as BARC visits Bridgend care homeResidents at Glanffrwd care home in Pencoed were delighted to receive a visit from the Bridgend Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) as they made some adorable new furry friends.

There was smiles all round as Residents, Relatives and Colleagues met animals of all sizes, including Bronson, Luna and Daisy the dogs, Socks the cat, Zoya the ferret and a very popular parrot.

Those living at Glanffrwd gathered in the lounge to meet their exciting visitors, while animal-loving Residents who couldn’t go to the lounge received visits to their rooms.

Resident Freda, who was feeling a little under the weather on the day, requested a visit to her room and her eyes lit up as she saw the adorable animals waltz through her bedroom door.

The day was a great success and was enjoyed by everyone who took part, with one Resident commenting: “I loved how soft and gentle the animals were. This has been one of my favourite activities this month and reminded me of how much I love animals of all shapes and sizes.”
