Residents have stacks of fun for Pancake Day at Wotton-under-Edge care homeCelebrations were underway at Pennwood Lodge care home in Kingswood, Wotton-under-Edge as Residents enjoyed a special Pancake Day race.

Colleagues and Residents were invited to wear fancy dress costumes for the occasion, with some dressing up as Madonna, Superwomen and the 118 men.

The Pancake Day race saw contenders taking part in five heats, as they attempted to finish the race as quickly as possible while tossing the pancakes at least twice.

The final three were Residents Anne Triggs, Janet Harris and Home Manager Irene Kirui, with Anne being crowned as the winner.

Once the competition had come to an end, Residents tucked in to the homemade pancakes as they selected from a variety of toppings, with the favourite being lemon and sugar.

One Resident commented: “That was so much fun! It was nice to be able to take part in the race and I really enjoyed tasting the pancakes afterwards.”
