Residents have a fangtastic time at their Halloween discoResidents at HC-One’s Sutherland Court Care Home in Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne, had a fangtastic time singing the Monster Mash and celebrating the spookiest day of the year.

Everyone at Sutherland Court enjoyed a Halloween-themed disco yesterday to celebrate the spookiest day of the year!

Singer Mick came with his guitar and performed Halloween-themed songs such as the Monster Mash and Thriller by Michael Jackson. He also played songs from the 1960’s and 1970’s with the Residents had a great time dancing and singing along to.

The kitchen provided a delicious buffet, including pizza, spring rolls, sandwiches, cheese cake, hot dogs, chicken strips, salad, samosa’s, chicken strips and a cheese and onion quiche. The drinks trolley also went round with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy with their tea.

The highlight of the evening was when Doris Smith was given two tickets to go and see Newcastle United play at St James’ Park. Doris is a huge Newcastle United fan but has never seen her beloved ‘toon army’ play.

Residents had a great time, commenting:

“We loved singing along to the Monster Mash!”
