Residents go for gold at Castletown care homeResidents at HC-One’s Northview Lodge care home in Castletown, Tyne and Wear took charge of a decoration project and helped transform the home’s reception area.

With the help of Home Administrator, Lisa Scott, Handyman, Alan Wilson and Domestic Worker, Tony Moon, Residents got to decorate the home’s reception area by choosing the colour scheme, wallpaper and décor.

The unanimous decision was a gold colour scheme, once Residents chose the wallpaper the team got straight to work, with lots of helpful encouragement and ideas from all of the Residents.

Everyone was thrilled with the final result, visitors and the team also commented on how lovely the reception area looks.

One Resident commented: “I love the new decoration, it makes the home much more welcoming and plush.”

Northview Lodge Home Manager, Patrick Morley said: “The project was a great success, Residents really enjoyed being part of the decision making process and getting to voice their thoughts and ideas. The reception area looks amazing and we will continue to involve Residents in any future projects.”
