Residents gifted homemade cart from handy ColleagueTony Hoad, Maintenance Operative at HC-One’s Gittisham Hill House care home in Honiton put his handy skills to good use to create a beautiful, bespoke cart for Residents.

Throughout the summer months, Residents have enjoyed a fortnightly visit from a local Mr Whippy ice cream van.

With the arrival of autumn, the team at Gittisham Hill House thought it would be nice to introduce a vintage sweet trolley, but they did not have anything suitable to use as the trolley.

Tony told his Colleagues he would organise the trolley and amazed everyone when he delivered a stunning white and pink striped cart that he has made by hand from recycled timber from his shed.

Residents were equally as impressed with Tony’s handiwork and couldn’t believe that the cart was there’s to use.

Marita Westaway, Home Manager at Gittisham Hill House commented:

“On behalf of everyone at Gittisham Hill House, I would like to thank Tony for his thoughtful contribution to our home.

“The cart is an amazing asset which will be enjoyed by everyone as both a decorative and practical feature for many years to come.”
