Residents from HC-One’s Jack Dormand Care Home enjoyed a three-week course on pottery, where they learned how to make pots, candleholders and Christmas ornaments out of clay.
Carer Amanda Wilson and Wellbeing Coordinator Donna Price took the Residents along to the Horden Community Centre for the free pottery course, which is run by Durham County Council.
The ladies learnt how to mould the clay into an ornament of their choice, paint them and decorate them and really enjoyed learning this new skill, plus they were really good at it. They met four people from the local community who everyone enjoyed chatting to each week.
Everyone received an award for completing the course last week and were all really chuffed with their achievements.
The Residents all really enjoyed learning a new skill and getting to meet new people.
