Residents enjoy Horsing around at Frome care homeResidents at Catherine House received a surprise visit recently when Lauren, one of the carers, brought her beautiful chestnut pony, Betsy, to see everyone at the home.

As it was a bright and warm day, Residents were able to come outside to enjoy her company, and receive some nuzzles in the sunshine. Cyril and John, two of the Residents, even enjoyed offering Betsy some delicious Polo mints as a treat.

When asked what they liked the most about Betsy and her visit, the Residents remarked: “we loved the feel of the whiskers on Betsy’s muzzle, and how soft and smooth her coat felt. It was such a lovely treat to have her visit for the afternoon.”

Jane Reynolds, Home Manager also commented: “Bringing animals into the home is such great therapy for our Residents. It brings a smile to everyone’s faces, and it’s lovely to see the interaction.”
