Residents enjoy birdwatching at Tameside care homeResidents at HC-One’s Yew Trees care home in Dukinfield, Manchester have enjoyed taking part in bird-themed crafts as part of RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.

Residents have been making fat balls for their local feathered friends as well as crafting bird feeders out of cardboard tubes.

They spent the week enjoying the beauty of nature and watching as the birds enjoyed their snacks out in the garden.

One Resident commented: “I like to see and feed the birds. Aren’t they beautiful?”

As well as feeding and watching the local birds, the Residents took part in plenty of crafts sessions. They were able to paint pictures, make beautiful suncatchers, and even made their own birds out of tissue paper.

Celebrating the local wildlife was a wonderful way to cheer up the home during a cold winter’s week, and Residents particularly loved watching the birds eat the special treats they had crafted.

A Colleague at Yew Trees care home said: “I can’t believe how much they liked making the fat balls.”
