Residents enjoy a visit from Commonwealth Bronze MedallistHC-One’s Douglas View in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, enjoyed a visit from local girl Kirsty Gilmour yesterday, winner of a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2018.

Kirsty Gilmour visited Douglas View following her return from Australia where she recently competed in Badminton and won the bronze medal.

She was given the royal welcome at Douglas View with a piper to bring her into the home, where the Residents were all waiting with a party to congratulate her on her recent success.

Resident Wilma Dickson commented:

“It was a great day! It’s fantastic being able to celebrate the success of the younger generation and to watch a local girl from Hamilton makes it even more special.”

Douglas View’s Home Manager, Katy Jenks commented:

“Kirsty took time to answer questions about her experience and share her memories with the Residents. It really was a great day.”
