Residents from HC-One’s Lothian House Care Home in Spennymoor enjoyed a holiday to Parkdean Resorts Crimdon Dene Holiday Park.
Everyone loves a holiday and the Residents at Lothian House are no exception! Together, they decided that they would like to organise a trip to Crimdon Dene Holiday Park and the team set about organising the trip.
They booked a caravan from 1st – 5th October and Jill rang around all of the neighbouring homes to see if they would mind if Lothian House borrowed David the Mini Bus Driver for a few days, which they all agreed to and commented on what a great idea it was.
After a game of bingo in the clubhouse, everyone set off to the holiday park where, as they all settled in, they all enjoyed a chat a cuppa whilst admiring the scenery.
Over the four days, 20 Residents were taken to the caravan for their own little holiday.
Residents loved the view from the caravan and had a great trip away from the home. Residents Alma Hopper and Deanne Baker commented:
“We laughed from morning until night, it was fantastic!”
Jill Carr, Home Manager at Lothian House, commented:
“This was a really fun trip for our Residents and a great way to promote social interaction, develop friendship, reduce social isolation and introduce them to the community and outside world.”
