Residents donate to local food bank, Hebburn HelpsResidents and the team at HC-One’s Hebburn Court Care Home in Hebburn have been busy collecting and making food donations for their Harvest Festival on 5th October.

Together, they made two food hampers that Theresa Moore, Wellbeing Coordinator, and Kirsty Rutter, Senior Home Administrator, took to Hebburn Helps as a donation.

Hebburn Helps is a local community food bank and crisis response team. They are a voluntary community organisation that was set up by Jo Durkin and Angie Comerford in 2015.

They provide local families with food parcels, adult and children clothing, baby equipment, toys, household items and much more.

Resident Sandra Smallcombe commented:

“It is such a good feeling, helping Hebburn Helps when we can. We all enjoyed collecting for the hampers and putting them together.”

Hebburn Court’s Home Manager, John Lafferty commented:

“Hebburn Helps are a fantastic organisation and we couldn’t be happier to be supporting them and giving back to the families in the local community.

Thank you to everyone who donated.”
