Residents from HC-One’s The Beeches care home in Dunfermline, Fife have been making new friends via a pen pal project with fellow HC-One care home, The Beeches in Doncaster.
Both care homes decided it would be great to start a pen pal scheme for Residents at the homes that share the same name. Residents have enjoyed writing their letters for their new Doncaster-based friends and even having a lovely stroll to the post box.
The project is proving to be very popular with Residents in both homes, they are looking forward to responses from their letters and enjoy reading each other’s letters.
The Beeches Home Manager, Diane Cain said: “The new pen pal project is having a really positive impact on Residents wellbeing. It’s great to for Residents to speak other people in different parts of the United Kingdom.”
