Residents celebrate Chinese New Year at The Rowans
Residents at The Rowans care home in Coalville welcomed the Chinese New Year with a series of fun, cultural celebrations.
The day’s activities began with a craft afternoon, where Residents made Chinese lanterns to help transport the home to China for their evening meal.
Kitchen staff cooked up a selection of traditional Chinese dishes, including spring rolls, noodles and a variety of sweet treats.
One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed the Chinese New Year celebrations. My favourite part was dinner, as I really enjoy trying food from other countries.”
Jodie Robinson, Home Manager at The Rowans, said: “Chinese New Year was a real hit with our Residents, as everyone enjoyed putting their own spin on their Chinese lanterns and also loved the food.”
