Residents celebrate Chinese New Year at Alexander CourtChinese New Year celebrations were in full swing at Alexander Court care home in Sheffield as Residents welcomed the Year of the Pig.

Residents joined together to make a variety of Chinese crafts for the home, including Chinese blossom and traditional lanterns.

During the crafts session, everyone was excited to discuss their knowledge and experiences of the Chinese culture, including cuisine, clothing and language.

One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed learning more about China during our craft sessions, especially after hearing the memories of some fellow Residents who have travelled there.”

Bea Gibbons, Home Manager at Alexander Court, said: “At HC-One, we strive to provide a range of exciting activities for our Residents which enables them to learn about different cultural traditions.

“Everyone really enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year, and the home looked truly spectacular after being decorated by the Residents’ creations.”
