Residents at Silverwood take a trip into BeestonTwo Residents at Silverwood, residential, nursing and dementia care home, in Nottingham, took a trip into the town centre.

Jean and Charles were very keen to take a trip into the local town of Beeston, for a little look around the shops and some fresh air.

Each Resident has a little list of things to look out for while shopping.

Jean was extremely excited to have a little trip out on her electric scooter as it has been a while since she has been able to take it for a spin. She wanted to get some treats for herself and some blue paint for her bedroom.

Charles came along too as he had been finding it difficult to find some thin shoelaces to fit his leather shoes. He was delighted that he was able to find a pair and bring a new lease of life to his shoes!

Both Jean and Charles had a great day out and said, “I like getting out and being able to buy my own things!”

Jean had such as good time she asked if she could come again once her room has been painted to get new ornaments and bedding.

Debra Meynell, Care Home Manager, commented, “The Residents love a little shopping trip out, they have so much fun.”
