HC-One’s Oakland Care Home in Rochdale, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, was visited on Thursday 12th December by MP for Heywood and Middleton North, Elsie Blundell.
Residents and colleagues of the HC-One owned care home enjoyed meeting MP Elsie Blundell and chatting to her about what life is like at Oakland Care Home – which is an integral part of the local Rochdale community.
MP Elsie Blundell enjoyed a tour round the 40 bedded residential and residential dementia care home, including the hair salon, lounge, ensuite bedrooms and gardens.
Renu Kataria, Home Manager at HC-One’s Oakland Care Home, commented:
“We were delighted to welcome MP Elsie Blundell to our home. Everyone had a great time, chatting and discussing key issues they care about and what actions can be taken to overcome them.”
Elsie Blundell, MP for Heywood and Middleton North, said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet the residents of HC-One’s Oakland Care Home so close to Christmas. With links to the local community, it is particularly nice that residents can live so close to where they lived before and are looked after by staff who care.
“Our care services continue to be vitally important for people and care workers need our support and dedication to improve their pay and conditions. I will make it one of my priorities to champion the care sector and the quality of life they provide for our family members.”
