HC-One’s Meadow Bank House Care Home in Bolton, Manchester, was visited on Friday 13th December by MP for Bolton South and Walkden, Yasmin Qureshi and Councillor for St James Ward, Josh Charter.
Residents and colleagues of the HC-One owned care home enjoyed meeting MP Yasmin Qureshi and Councillor Josh Charter and chatting to them about what life is like at Meadow Bank House Care Home – which is an integral part of the local Bolton community.
MP Yasmin Qureshi and Councillor Josh Charter enjoyed a tour round the 45 bedded residential and nursing care home by Home Manager, Jincy Lukose, including the hair salon, shop, cinema, lounge, tearoom, ensuite bedrooms and gardens. MP Yasmin Qureshi and Councillor Josh Charter spent time chatting and engaging with residents, learning about their experiences at Meadow Bank House.
During the visit, MP Yasmin Qureshi expressed an interest in understanding various aspects of the care home, including residents' wellbeing, occupancy, and the home's relationships within the local community. Home Manager, Jincy Lukose highlighted the strong ties Meadow Bank House has built with local schools, churches, and other community organisations.
Residents’ spokesperson, Mike Roddy, who is also a former neighbour of MP Yasmin Qureshi, shared how performances by local schoolchildren bring joy to the residents living at Meadow Bank House, describing the songs as refreshing and uplifting for everyone at the home.
The visit also provided an opportunity for colleague to share their efforts in maintaining high morale through staff wellbeing programs, which have been instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting staff retention. The entire team at Meadow Bank House Care Home expressed their gratitude to both MP Yasmin Qureshi and Councillor Josh Carter for visiting and the genuine interest shown by them in the home’s residents, colleagues, and community connections.
