Residents at
Summerhill, residential, nursing and dementia care home in Kendal, Cumbria, enjoyed a lovely art class from local artist.
As part of Summerhill making connections in the local community, Lana Grindley a local artist was invited along to teach some of the Residents how to make some great art work.
The theme of the session was floral art and they were taught many different techniques which they had not used before.
Residents from all communities across the home got together to share their passion for art and they created some lovely pieces as well as making new friends.
The Residents loved the class, one Resident said, “I love to paint and I look forward to the art class each month. I wonder what the theme will be on Lana’s next visit.”
Kathleen Dean, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Lana has become a familiar face to our Residents and as each visits passes they look forward to the next.”
