Residents at Gallions View create a memory and sensory gardenThe team and Residents at HC-One’s Gallions View Care Home have been busy transforming a corner of the grounds into a memory and sensory garden.

A corner of the grounds at Gallions View was in need of some TLC, so the Residents decided amongst themselves that they would like to transform it into a garden.

They decided that it would be a nice place to have a memory garden, a place to remember those that they’ve lost as well as a sensory garden with lots of different colours and smells.

Together with the team at Gallions View, they planted pots with lots of new and colourful plants, such as rose trees and Dahlias. Everyone hoped that this would also attract more wildlife; the local cat has already taken to using the garden to lie in the sun.

Furniture was also added so that Residents and their relatives will be able to enjoy afternoon tea in the sun.
