HC-One’s Godden Lodge Care Home in Benfleet, Essex, opened its doors to their local community on Saturday 7th September to host their summer fete.
MP for Castle Point, Dame Rebecca Harris also visited Godden Lodge Care Home for the special occasion. Residents and colleagues of the HC-One owned care home enjoyed meeting MP Dame Rebecca Harris and chatting to her about what life is like at Godden Lodge Care Home – which is an integral part of the local Benfleet community.
Dame Rebecca Harris enjoyed a tour round the 123 bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, including the hair salon, bedrooms, dining room and living areas. This was followed by Dame Rebecca Harris joining in with the variety of entertainment on offer at the home’s summer fete event, held in the garden area.
The summer fete event was a huge success, with over a 100 visitors young and old enjoying the sunshine, live music, stalls, classic games, a raffle and a delicious barbecue provided by the care home’s onsite catering team.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day with residents sharing their delight and enjoyment of listening to live singer Charlie, performing hit songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.
Lewis Chester, Home Manager at Godden Lodge Care Home, commented:
“We were delighted to welcome MP Dame Rebecca Harris to our home’s summer fete event. Everyone had a great time enjoying the selection of entertainment on offer, as well as chatting and discussing key issues they care about and what actions can be taken to overcome them with Dame Rebecca Harris.
“Thank you to everyone who attended our summer fete event for their kindness, generosity and support.”
Castle Point’s MP, Dame Rebecca Harris, stated:
“The Godden Lodge Summer Fete was lovely and underlined how much the care home is in the centre of the community of Thundersley Village.”
