HC-One’s Greatwood House Care Home in Denton, Tameside, Greater Manchester, was visited on Friday 20th December by MP for Gorton and Denton and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Prevention, Andrew Gwynne.
Residents and colleagues of the HC-One owned care home enjoyed meeting MP Andrew Gwynne and chatting to him about what life is like at Greatwood House Care Home – which is an integral part of the local Denton community.
MP Andrew Gwynne enjoyed a tour round the 60 bedded residential and residential dementia care home, including the hair salon, lounge, tearoom, ensuite bedrooms and gardens.
Odette Lilley, Home Manager at HC-One’s Greatwood House Care Home, commented:
“We were delighted to welcome MP Andrew Gwynne to our home. Everyone had a great time, chatting and discussing key issues they care about and what actions can be taken to overcome them.”
MP for Gorton and Denton and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Prevention, Andrew Gwynne, stated:
“I had lots of fun this morning making Christmas decorations with the residents and staff of Greatwood House Care Home in Denton, I’m always thoroughly impressed with the facilities and staff here.
“Social care facilities such as Greatwood House are a core part of our healthcare system, and we’re making sure they get the funding they need.
“In the budget we announced the largest increase to carers allowance since the 1970s, and next year we’ll be setting out our long-term plan for social care.”
