Residents at
Defoe Court, residential and nursing care home, in Newton Aycliffe, celebrated Chinese New Year.
On the 1st of February, Residents were very excited to celebrate the year of the tiger.
The Residents were able to choose what was on the menu for the day. A favourite amongst all the Residents was sweet and sour chicken with prawn crackers.
It was great for the Residents to learn about the Chinese New Year and what it means.
Everyone had a lovely meal, and said it was the tastiest meal they have had in while.
One Resident, remarked, “I haven’t had Chinese food in a long time, and I thoroughly enjoyed that as a nice change.”
Alexandria Mason, Care Home Manager, added, “Hopefully the year of the tiger brings about some luck for us all!”
