Many of the Residents and Relatives at HC-One’s
Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, enjoyed a wonderful party celebrating the coronation of King Charles III.
The 38-bed residential and nursing care home was decorated by Residents prior to the event, in Union Jack flags and all things royal-themed.
Many Residents gathered in Harnham Croft’s main lounge to watch the event on the television together. There was much chatter around memories of the celebrations from Queen Elizabeth's Coronation, back in the 1950s.
After the televised event, Residents enjoyed a beautiful buffet spread with wine, and an amazing Union Jack fruit sponge cake, made by the kitchen team.
The wellbeing team all dressed in red, white, and blue, and paid a visit to every Resident to spread the Coronation joy. Lots of music and dancing also took place among Residents and Colleagues.
All in all, it was a wonderful and meaningful get-together, full of happy memories from the past and present.
Pauline, who is a Resident at Harnham Croft, remarked, “I loved the happy atmosphere of being with so many people for an historic event.”
Fellow Resident Margaret added, “The day was just lovely.”
Jim Bowie, Manager, said, “It was a fantastic day, enjoyed by everyone!”
