Residents are thrilled to visit Fenwick’s Christmas window displayResidents from the Grace Unit at HC-One’s Eastbourne House Care Home in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, enjoyed a reminiscent festive visit to Newcastle to see in the Christmas season.

Beatrice Smith, Joyce Lightley, Ada Taylor, Penny Dirckx, Vida Noble, Dorothy Roberts, Cathie Hurst, Barbara On and Margaret Adams were really excited to visit Fenwick’s window display.

Visiting Newcastle’s Northumberland Street brought back a lot of memories for the Residents and they all enjoyed reminiscing about their own experiences.

The Residents loved the ‘Snowman’ display; it really got them into the festive spirit.

Resident Ada Taylor commented:

“I worked in Mosley Street in Newcastle when I lived in Wallsend. Going past Wallsend on the bus and getting to visit Newcastle brought back memories of when I was young.”

Daniel Ridley, Deputy Home Manager, commented:

“It was lovely to see our Resident’s who reside for memory care to be able to revisit Newcastle and experience Fenwick’s window and visit the Christmas markets.”

Jen Collingwood and Bev Watson have been extensively fundraising for the Grace Unit including a sponsored walk in the summer and arranging activities such as Bonus Ball, Football Card and Tombola’s. All of the funds raised will contribute to renovating the Grace Unit.
