Residents Leslie Reed, Les Hutchinson, Ken Campbell, Rena Clarke and Aileen Wilkinson had asked to visit the museum during a recent Residents’ meeting, which the home were delighted to organise.

The highlight of the day for everyone was seeing the Flying Scotsman, but they also enjoyed looking at all of the other trains and learning about their history, especially Queen Alexandra’s carriage and a huge snowplough.

Leslie commented:

“What a marvellous machine and a lovely museum, I never thought I would get to see the Flying Scotsman,”
