The Residents at
Market Lavington care home, in Devizes enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas card making to get into the festive spirit.
Dennis Scurrell, Joyce Kennedy, Phyllis Shellard and Gordon Grist listened to classic Christmas songs while decorating the cards, some of the Residents even began to sing along!!
The Residents chose a picture from a selection, to glue on the front of the card then used different art materials to colour in those pictures.
Some Residents decided to write messages inside their cards, while others got creative and stuck foam letters of many colours inside to create a personalized message to family.
Joyce, a Resident, loved making the cards, she said, “I think I might make two cards, but perhaps one at a time!”
This activity was great for the Residents as they can express themselves and this Christmas, we have lots of lovely ideas to create gifts, not only for our Residents but also their Relatives and friends.
Dennis was keen to give cards to all his family and friends, he asked Michaela, “If I just colour one can we copy it to make more?”
Michaela Powell, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “Seeing all the lovely messages our residents have put inside each card really warms my heart, I can’t wait for their family to receive them.’
