Resident rediscovers passion for painting at Peterlee care homeThe team at HC-One’s Grampian Court care home in Peterlee are delighted that Resident, Tommi, has recently rediscovered her love for painting after one-to-one session with the home’s Wellbeing Coordinator.

In her younger days, Tommi was a keen painter and now she living with dementia her family expressed how lovely it would be if she could still enjoy her favourite pastime. Grampian Court’s Wellbeing Coordinator decided to have weekly one-to-one sessions with Tommi to offer her support and encouragement to pick up the paint brush again.

Tommi quickly found her passion for painting again and is now enjoying creating beautiful pictures which are being kept in a book so that everyone can admire her talents.

Emma Hume, Home Manager at Grampian Court said: “I am so pleased that Tommi is enjoying one of her favourite pastimes again, it’s heart-warming to see her painting such wonderful pictures.”
