Resident enjoys a trip down memory lane with her husband HC-One’s Roseberry Court Care Home in Redcar makes another Resident’s wish come true, by taking her down memory lane with her husband.

Resident Margaret Kirk wished to spend the day with her husband, Jim, so the team at Roseberry Court arranged for them to enjoy the sunshine at the sea front before taking them on a reminiscent trip.

Margaret’s face was a picture when she was told what her and her husband would be doing that day. It was a gorgeous sunny day and both Margaret and Jim were really excited to be visiting the seaside.

Once they arrived, they stopped at The Stray CafĂ©, a favourite of Margaret and Jim’s and one they used to visit regularly, where they sat in the sun and watched the world go by whilst enjoying an ice cream.

When both Jim and Margaret had had enough of the sun, the team took them on a trip down memory lane, visiting their old house, being driven down roads they used to walk down and passing The Cleveland Bay, a pub where they both used to enjoy time together. Jim commented:

“I spent lots of time with the board of governors putting the world to rights in that pub.”

Margaret and Jim loved every moment of the trip, spending it with a big smile on their faces. It also jogged lots of special memories for them and they enjoyed sharing these with the staff.

Roseberry Court’s Home Manager, Alison Corner commented:

“We love to put a smile on our Residents faces and grant their wishes. This trip down memory lane for both Margaret and Jim was a very special occasion for them both.”
