Resident climbs CairnGorm Mountain at 97A number of Residents from HC-One’s The Birches Care Home in Crieff, Perthshire enjoyed a day out to the Ptarmigan restaurant at the summit of Cairngorm last week.

The Birches encourages Residents to communicate their wishes via the wishing tree, hoping to prompt their engagement in activities as well as to share experiences with others.

Isabella Hoy’s wish was to climb a mountain at 97 so the care team organised the next best thing for her, a meal at the Ptarmigan restaurant at the summit of CairnGorm Mountain.

Residents Bill McGregor, David Shanks and Joan Oliphant joined Isabella on this experience and all of them were amazed with the view overlooking the mountains.

Isabella commented:

“Thank you so much for this trip and for fulfilling my wish. It was such a surprise to see at 97.”

The trip has become a talking point within the home and has renewed and rekindled Resident’s wishes to try something new and wishing to share their experiences.
