Resident celebrates 90th birthday at Chelmsford care homeDaphne Newman, a Resident at HC-One’s Admirals Reach care home in Chelmsford, Essex celebrated her 90th birthday on Monday 7th January surrounded by friends, family, fellow Residents and members of the care team.

Born in Bishop Stortford in 1929, Daphne was evacuated from her home during the war to live with her Aunt in Exmouth, two years later she returned to live with her family in Hatfield Heath. She became a nurse at Hearts Essex Hospital, married her husband had two wonderful sons and a beloved dog called Ben. 

On her special day, Daphne was surrounded by loved ones wishing her a happy birthday. Admirals Reach Home Manager surprised Daphne with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a 90th birthday balloon and a card signed by everyone at the home.

Daphne Newman commented:

“What a lovely surprise, I have had the best birthday ever!”
