Resident celebrates 103rd birthday at Chelmsford care homeKen Riley, a Resident at HC-One’s Admiral Reach care home in Chelmsford celebrated his 103rd birthday on Saturday 15th September surrounded by loved ones, fellow Residents and members of the care team.

Before moving to Chelmsford in 1986, Ken lived in London with his wife Brenda who he met in 1941 at an Army Dance in Shropshire and married after the World War II.

Both Ken and Brenda were Geography teachers and spent their spare time travelling around Europe, France was one of their favourite locations where they enjoyed sampling the local food and wine.

When asked what his secret to long life is, Ken said that he puts it down to good food, cycling and playing sports.

To celebrate Ken’s special day, he was gifted a bottle of champagne from HC-One Area Directors and Admirals Reach Home Manager, Lal Mangalam. His Daughter and Son-in-Law visited Ken to celebrate his special day and enjoyed a celebration with fellow Residents.

HC-One Regional Managing Director, Amanda Scott said:
