Reminiscence in the air at Great Easton care homeResidents at HC-One’s The Moat House care home were delighted to have received a visit from Saffron Walden museum recently.

The discussion surrounded the artifacts brought in as Residents examined objects from the 1920’s and 1930’s which were currently on loan from the museum.

Residents were particularly interested in the items that reflected part of their own lives as they reminisced about their childhoods and home lives with their parents.

They compared various differences between the fashions and ways of life, as they also discussed the changes in the royal family after reading a souvenir brochure of the coronation of the King and Queen during 1937.

The Residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they could discuss their favourite parts of their childhoods and the things they missed the most.

Hedvig Nemeth, Home Manager, commented: “It’s been such an interesting afternoon for the Residents to experience. We have also found it amazing to see how fashion and other aspects have changed over time, and ti was very informative for us as Colleagues.”
