Remembrance Day tribute preparations at Caerphilly care homePreparations are underway at HC-One’s Abermill care home in Caerphilly to create a Remembrance Day display which will be presented at the Annual Art and Craft Exhibition at The Vanguard-Centre on Saturday 24th November.

Residents have been busy making poppies which will cover a pillar within the home, as well as different pieces which will be displayed on the walls of communal areas.

Everyone has enjoyed the arts and crafts sessions and are looking forward to working on more elements of the Remembrance Day display.

Abermill also plans to sell pieces of their artwork, with all proceeds from sales going to the Resident’s Comfort Fund.

Audrey King, a Resident at Abermill commented:

“I really enjoy doing things like this and seeing my late husband’s artwork as part of the display is lovely.”

Leah Mort, Home Manager at Abermill said:

“It’s lovely to see Residents getting excited about this arts and crafts project, it’s one of the most popular activities within the home. Everyone shares stories and reminisces as they work, we all can’t wait to see the completed display.”
