Remembrance Day service at Sheffield care homeAlexander Court care home in Sheffield held a beautiful Remembrance Day service for Residents and their loved ones.

The service began with an emotional speech from Anne, which described the experiences of one of her Relatives that served in the war.

Residents, Relatives and Colleagues joined together to say a prayer, read out some poems and sing some hymns, including a special veterans’ version of Hallelujah.

After the service, Residents watched the Remembrance parade on TV and then watched a film called British Intelligence, while enjoying vanilla sponge, poppy seed buns and apple pie made by the kitchen staff.

One Resident commented: “It was a beautiful service and a moving way to remember those affected by the war.”
