HC-One’s Appleton Lodge in Stockport welcomed entertainer Samantha Jones to commemorate the 100 year celebration of the end of the world war.
Samantha came in full commemorative uniform and performed a tribute act to World War 1 and played the trumpet.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the commemoration and partook in the 2 minute silence on the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month 100 years ago.
They then had a toast of champagne to remember all those who fought in the war and enjoyed the songs from the end of the war.
Residents comments included:
“It makes me so sad, they gave their lives so we could live ours.”
“Sam played a marvellous tribute and I felt like I was back in the war time and it was so good to see that.”
Home Manager, Kay Slinger commented:
"The Residents really enjoyed celebrating 100 years since the end of the world war 1 and Samantha’s tribute was really beautiful."
