Residents and team members at HC-One’s Sutherland Court care home in Fenham paid their respects to fallen heroes on Remembrance Day on Monday 11th November.
Remembrance Day is observed by members of the Commonwealth of Nations to remember members of the military and armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
Residents came together to remember those who have served and are serving our country, in the afternoon everyone enjoyed a performance of war time songs from the 40’s and 50’s by Christine Rosemond.
Karen Stewart, Home Manager at Sutherland Court said: “We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who joined us in remembering the selfless sacrifice of our fallen heroes.
“Some of our Residents have lost loved ones during different conflicts so it was a cathartic experience for them to remember and pay their respects.”
