A Remembrance Day outdoor service was held at
Daneside Mews residential dementia care home, in Northwich, by a memorial that the Residents helped to make.
Colleagues and Residents had a minute’s silence, followed by the last post. They then had poems read aloud
Accompanied by music, singing and a hot chocolate, Residents reminisced together afterwards.
One of the Residents recalled, “My dad died in the war, he was only 18.”
The Residents enjoyed being able to attend a remembrance service and enjoyed talking to each other about their memories
Nicola Blackwood, Care Home Manager, added, “It was a very emotional morning. It felt so special, and I could feel the atmosphere in the air.”
