With the sad news of Queen Elizabeth passing away, everyone at
Clarendon Hall care home, in Grimsby, wanted to show her how much they appreciated all she had done in her 70-year reign, and shared some stories and memories together.
All Residents, Colleagues and visitors were given the opportunity to write a message in the home’s condolence book and have a moment of quiet reflection. Colleagues set up a small table for this, which also included pictures of the late queen.
Residents were able to watch the funeral on Monday and as a team they celebrated the Queen’s life with an afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones and cake and had a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ party to celebrate the Queens life.
The whole home wrote a joint card and a poem for the Royal Family and for King Charles. which has been sent to Buckingham Palace.
Wendy Philpott, who loves at the 49-bed residential and nursing care home said, “It was lovely to be able to remember the life of the Queen and all that she has done for this country and others.”
Fellow Resident Nancy Connor, added, “Thank you for allowing us to be able to talk about this amazing lady and everything she has done.”
Nicola Walker, Home Manager at Clarendon Hall, commented, “It is a sad time for everyone, when the Queen has been there for all of our lives and made a difference.”
