Redcar care home Residents get creative to celebrate World Art DayResidents at HC-One’s Roseberry Court care home in Redcar celebrated World Art Day on 24th September by having a creative, art filled afternoon.

Roseberry Court Residents celebrated world art day by first choosing their own design of pot stars to paint, which included hanging ones and ones that a candle would hold.

Then, Residents enjoyed choosing their favourite colours and were very surprised at how good their stars looked when finished, Residents that choose not to paint stars enjoyed colouring paintings together.

Jean, a Resident at Roseberry Court said: “Well I’ve really enjoyed painting, and I love my finished star.”

Residents really enjoyed their afternoon and really benefited from it. The calming nature of painting, writing or other creative pursuits is a way to forget about larger stresses and promote healthy, happy feelings.

Roseberry Court Home Manager, Joe Presho said: “Residents were really surprised at how good their finished paintings were today, and commented how much they had enjoyed themselves.”
