Resident Ella Clark at HC-One’s Park House care home in Guisborough celebrated her 102nd birthday on 7th of September with a visit off her family and some drinks.
Ella has had an active varied life and has been a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with two daughters, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ella’s last great grandson was born on Ella’s 100th birthday in Germany, but he has flown over with his family to meet his great Grandma. Ella said her secret to a long life has been the love of her wonderful husband Jim, who she married in 1937 as well as enjoying arts and crafts, fresh air and gardening.
Birthday girl Ella also had a lot to do with the Duke of Edinburgh Award in her younger days. She it up and encouraged young people to take part just as both of her own daughters did it. Ella said she has always taken good care of her skin and likes to look nice, so she was especially pleased when housekeeper Dionne did her hair for her big day.
Park House Home Manager Julie Woods said: “I am so proud to have a Resident like Ella in our home, sharing all her wisdom and beauty.”
