Redcar care home remembers war heroes in Remembrance ServiceHC-One’s Roseberry Court Care Home in Redcar, Cleveland, pay their respects with their own personal tribute on the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

Residents and the team at Roseberry Court decorated the main entrance with lots of knitted poppies, which were knitted last year by the Residents, their families, friends and staff. They are going to be a lasting tribute, not only to remember the fallen during the war years but also to remember all of our Residents, their families, friends and staff members every year.

Everyone took part in a two minute silence at 11am and watched all the services together, whilst sharing memories. A puppet show was performed to the Residents with songs from the war years, which everyone enjoyed singing along to.

Alison Corner, Home Manager at Roseberry Court, commented:

“Our home looked beautiful with all of the knitted poppies as a lasting tribute to those who gave their lives for us, including all of the animals, and also to remember all of our Residents, families and staff members year after year.”
